Why do I love movies? Well, that is a loaded question. How much time do you have? I could go into a long-winded diatribe about the art of film-making or the magic of the movies, but all of that has been said countless times before. Not every movie is a masterpiece, but every film has touched me in one way or another. Every other week, we will look at a handful of reasons why movies are so damn great..

CHAPTER XIV

I love movies…

Because of Rebecca DeMornay in WEDDING CRASHERS.

Because of the banana in the tailpipe from BEVERLY HILLS COP.

Because of Bill Murray in any movie.

Because of this analysis of race from Doug Liman‘s GO.

Because of Johnny Depp in THE NINTH GATE.

Because of the way you feel when the lights dim in a theater before a movie starts playing.

Because of Bullet-Tooth Tony in SNATCH.

Because of Shannyn Sossamon in A KNIGHT’S TALE.

Because of Michael J. Fox in THE FRIGHTENERS.

Because of the creation story sequence from Darren Aronofsky‘s NOAH.

Because of Morgan Freeman‘s performance in LEAN ON ME.

Because of John Goodman in THE BABE.

Because of this cover of “Sickness” from DAWN OF THE DEAD.

Because of the creepy ass tree from THE GUARDIAN.

Because of Cary Elwes‘ super punch from the end of THE CRUSH.

Because of “do it” from STARSKY AND HUTCH.

Because of THE SANDLOT.

Because of Billy Zane in DEAD CALM.

Because of this f-bomb from BEETLEJUICE.

Because of the tree from THE FOUNTAIN.

Stay tuned every other week for more reasons Why I Love Movies! In the meantime, we WANT TO HEAR YOUR OWN REASONS below!!
