I've mentioned my ambivalence to the YOUNG HAN SOLO movie many times before (I really don't think it should exist). However, I've also said that the talent both in front of – and behind – the camera is enough to make it at least interesting. That includes the casting of Woody Harrelson as Han Solo's mentor. But who exactly is he playing?
It was believed that he'd be playing a STAR WARS LEGEND character named Garris Shrike, however, according to an interview with Jimmy Fallon, he is playing a character named "Beckett" instead. Here's the clip:
Now it's possible Beckett is just one of many aliases of Shrike, but more likely they're taking the template of that character and changing the name so it doesn't have to be a one-to-one adaptation (similar to what they did with Jacen Solo and Kylo Ren).
Either way, whether we want it or not, YOUNG HAN SOLO (title pending) will smuggle into theaters May 25th, 2018
