Well that didn't take long! Coming in right after the news of Universal Home Entertainment announcing the October 8th release for CURSE OF CHUCKY, along with the Blu-ray set CHUCKY: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION, we now have a trailer for flick which you guys can check out below! The film will be landing on VOD platforms on September 24th and it looks pretty solid. I'm kind of digging the new look and it's great hearing Brad Dourif voicing the little bastard.

Fiona Dourif, A Martinez, Danielle Bisutti and Brennan Elliott are all starring with Brad Dourif returning once again to provide the voice of Chucky, the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who returns to settle some unfinished business.

Remember, you can pre-order a copy of both the box set HERE and CURSE OF CHUCKY HERE.

Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Extra Tidbit: What did you think of the trailer?

Movie wise this looks better than expected for going straight to DVD, definately the return to tone the series needed. As for Chucky, facially it seems off - like a revamp he just didn't need. He almost looks too feminine. It's like every time they try to make Michael Myers mask different. The pic at top of the page demonstartes this all too much for me. Not sure if it's CGI or an actual redesign. The demonic style red eyed look in the trailer looks cool though.

Convert-in-training here.

Honestly, I stayed away from Chucky movies because... I don't know. I thought they looked stupid? Or something.

Anyways, I recently watched Seed of Chucky on Netflix, and it was awesome! I loved it! It was so self-referential and silly and ridiculous. I loved it. I haven't taken it upon myself to watch the other movies yet, though, because I heard that the ones denoted as Child's Play movies are actually supposed to be taken seriously, whereas every one after that is more of a comedic

I haven't taken it upon myself to watch the other movies yet, though, because I heard that the ones denoted as Child's Play movies are actually supposed to be taken seriously, whereas every one after that is more of a comedic affair. That somewhat turned me off of wanting to see the others, but I'll definitely pull the trigger on them now!

I might even just buy the Chucky DVD collection right now, and if I like it enough, buy the complete collection Blu-ray (didn't even know about that until this article! Thanks for the heads-up! :D)

Oh, sorry, the trailer: honestly, to me, looking very solid. The picture at the top of this page is a little disturbing in how weird it looks, but that's a minor thing. In motion, it seems like they got the right look, for sure. It's looking solid! :D

Curse of Chucky includes a potential Chucky victim in a wheelchair. Possibly, the script makes a wise move there. Granted, something Chucky's size can be threatening. Afterall, a dog or a wolverine can kill a person. However, movie audiences have a hard time suspending disbelief throughout most Child's Play movies. Thus, a handicapped victim might make some sense. A potential child victim would be a similar good move. Like in the first movie, the script thought of that plot element as well.

I don't know. I can find the Puppetmaster puppets scary. Talking Tina is creepy as all hell in The Twilight Zone. And of course, there's the Clown in Poltergeist and that fucken nuts hunter doll in Trilogy of Terror. But, Chucky has never done it for me. But, others will enjoy this film.
