Dante’s new writer

Last Updated on July 26, 2021

Back in November there was a HUGE bidding war between studios as to who was going to have the film rights to Electronic Arts’ video game adaptation DANTE’S INFERNO. Since Universal Pictures won the bidding war (check it out HERE) we haven’t heard squat about the project… until now.

According to Variety, Dan Harris, the dude who wrote SUPERMAN RETURNS and X2, has been hired to write the screenplay for DANTE’S INFERNO, based on the game that hasn’t even come out yet.

But why would a game need to come out to write the screenplay when the basic storyline is a video game in which players journey through the depths of hell. Hell, you could make it about anything, as long as they go to hell and battle it out.

Beyond that, there’s no word on the details. No director has been attached, no one has signed on to star. Right now, there’s a writer… should be interesting to see how ‘big’ EA’s Dante’s Inferno is going to be. For Universal’s sake, let’s hope it’s popular enough to warrant making a movie out of it!

Stick around for more info. on DANTE’S INFERNO as we hear it!
