Drink up with Jagermeister inspired teaser art from Marcus Nispel’s Backmask

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Do you guys remember us telling you all about Marcus Nispel’s BACKMASK? I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t, that shite was way back in May! That’s over a month ago people! How dare I expect you to remember something from that long ago. I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast and that was 10 minutes ago. Ah the wonders of weed and alcohol.

But in all seriousness, today we’ve got another fun update for you all regarding BACKMASK. Actually I don’t know how ‘fun’ it is but I’ll tell you all anyway. You see Voltage Pictures were kind enough to toss up the latest piece of teaser art for BACKMASK and I’ve decided to share it with all of you. While not the largest size, you can still get an idea of the new art below, which obviously pays homage to the alcoholic drink Jagermeister. Why? I have no idea but dig on it directly below.

During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vinyl record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message… and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.

Steven Schneider is producing this little diddy with principal photography set to kick-off July 13th. No telling who’ll be starring in BACKMASK but as soon as that news comes rolling our way you can be sure we’ll be passing it along to all of you.
