First gruesome still pops up for the indie genre flick The Devil’s Mile

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Back in August we told you about a little indie flick coming our way called THE DEVIL’S MILE. You guys remember that? The flick did seem kind of forgettable but there was definitely some potential there. In case you’re drawing blanks let me spark your memory.

The flick was coming at us from director Joseph O’Brien and a cast that included Maria Del Mar, Casey Hudecki, David Hayter, Samantha Wan, Amanda Joy Lim, Frank Moore, Craig Porritt and Shara Kim (below). Scope out the synopsis:

The Devil’s Mile is a relentlessly paced hybrid of gritty crime thriller and Lovecraftian supernatural horror. The film follows a trio of kidnappers who take an ill-advised detour en route to deliver their hostages — two teenage girls — to their mysterious and powerful employer. When they accidentally kill one of the girls during a botched escape attempt, their simmering mistrust explodes into shocking violence. But what they thought was their worst case scenario is only the beginning, as they are engulfed by the hellish forces that haunt the road — a road they realize they may never escape. Now captors and captive must fight together to escape the monstrous forces pursuing them and somehow survive…The Devil’s Mile.

Ringing any bells? Well either way THE DEVIL’S MILE just wrapped production and to celebrate we’ve got ourselves the first still from this thing and damn is it gruesome! No, it’s not that shot above. That’s a behind the scenes shot from the flick’s Facebook page that I couldn’t help posting.

Now directly below is where you’ll find the first twisted still from the flick and boy does it catch your attention. Job well done. Just scroll down below to check it out. Director Joseph O’Brien gives us a hint of what we can expect from the flick in the most recent press release:

“It’s been a wild ride. Guns, chases, vehicular manslaughter, demonically-resurrected murder victims, slashed throats and one seriously nasty mauling (the latter three courtesy of makeup FX maestro Allan Cooke). On top of all that we shot a vicious knock-down drag-out fight between Casey Hudecki and David Hayter for the climax. They just went for it and delivered one of the most brutal things I’ve ever seen.”

Sounds good to me! THE DEVIL’S MILE is set to hit sometime next year though a solid date hasn’t been announced yet. One thing is for sure, as soon as we hear any other updates on this little diddy you can bet we’ll pass them right along to all of you.
