Halo-8 Entertainment working on a Hack/Slash illustrated film?

Well here’s some news coming at us out of left field.. It seems the folks over at Halo-8 Entertainment are moving forward with another ‘illustrated film.’ You may remember us talking about their previous ‘illustrated film’ here at AITH, GODKILLER. The thing scored an amazing voice cast behind it and was looking pretty decent last time we checked. Apparently GODKILLER was fairly successful because Halo-8 have gone and tapped GODKILLER director Matt Pizzolo for this new feature. So what’s the deal?

As the title of this article might indicate, Halo-8 Entertainment and Matt Pizzolo are moving forward with an animated adaptation of Tim Seeley’s popular genre comic HACK/SLASH. I know you guys know what HACK/SLASH is… Hell it’s a comic about a smoking hottie killing psychopaths… Of course you know it! It’s also no secret that there’s a live-action adaptation of the comic on the way, but considering the last update on that came nearly a year ago it seems this ‘illustrated film’ might be the closest we get to seeing ‘Cassie Hack’ and company come to life for a while.

But that’s not all! It seems Pizzolo is also working on an ‘illustrated film’ based on Tim Seeley’s LOADED BIBLE as well! The plan is to release both films as a double-feature sometime in 2011. Seeley had the following to say regarding the announcement:

“I’m happy to have my two babies in the same crib, with a unique HACK/SLASH and LOADED BIBLE double feature. Viewers can get their horror and sacrilege in the same lovin’ spoonful.”

This HACK/SLASH ‘illustrated film’ will be based on the upcoming HACK/SLASH mini-series ‘My First Maniac,’ which details Cassie Hack’s first ever case. The HACK/SLASH: ‘My First Maniac’ comic mini-series is gearing up to hit us soon via Image Comics, so be on the lookout for that as well! Work on both HACK/SLASH and LOADED BIBLE should be kicking off soon. Just in case you need a refresher let me give you all the rundown on these two bad mama-jamas:

HACK/SLASH tells the ongoing adventures of Cassie Hack (daughter of the evil slasher known as The Lunch Lady), who rejected her mother’s murderous ways and instead devoted her life to hunting down slashers with her partner Vlad.

LOADED BIBLE takes place after nuclear Holy War has decimated North America and left it populated by legions of vampires. When humanity’s last stronghold New Vatican City is withering under the vampires’ assault, the Church gives their people a hero by cloning Jesus Christ Himself… but all is not as it seems for the Test Tube Messiah as he’s drawn into a web of betrayal, bloodshed, and seduction.
