LA Theater hands out custom barf bags for screenings of cannibal flick Raw

03.22.2017by: Mike Sprague

The French cannibal flick RAW is becoming legend in these parts. After a Toronto Midnight Madness screening where paramedics had to treat multiple audience members who had passed out (read that full story HERE), the film made pretty much every horror fans "must-see" list.

Well, the legend is growing even today as the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles is offering custom-made barf bags to customers who come to view RAW. It is said an usher hands out the bags after explaining that, due to the graphic gore in the movie, several viewers have fainted, while at least one person vomited.

Nuart programmer Mark Valen says:

"One of the staff at the Nuart took up the initiative to make the barf bags out of paper lunch bags. What a fun idea! I remember that used to be done with some horror releases in the 1970s."

RAW has been in nine theaters for a mere 11 days now and has gathered a more than respectable total of $89,929. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for a shot of one of the custom-made RAW barf bags.

Until then, here is some new RAW art I found, and read our review of the film HERE.

Enjoy!

Extra Tidbit: For real, I want one of these barf bags.
