The pics from the set of SPIDER-MAN 3 that we reported on yesterday gave us a good look at Tobey Maguire dressed in that black suit that may or may not be the alien symbiote that eventually bonds with Eddie Brock and becomes Venom (who Topher Grace may or may not be playing), may or may not be a physical manifestation of Spidey's inner angst or may or may not be Spidey going through an emo rock goth phase.

Whatever it is, the black suit was looking bad ass and Grace looked like he was fitting in well as whoever it is he's actually playing (no, I'm not sure what that meant). The ones below, which were sent to us by Scooper Who Forgot To Leave His or Her Name, give us a clear look at Bryce Dallas Howard as Spidey love interest Gwen Stacy and her apparently having an emotional moment with her father (played by James Cromwell).

Not to say Sandman isn't a possibility, very well could be, but that would be a big mistake in the long run. The fact that this movie was announced and planned so early, means some of the details we have been given could be false, just to keep the gossip up and to avoid too much expectation to build until the first trailer. pictures could be taken at purposely misleading times, seeing as how th...

The fact that this movie was announced and planned so early, means some of the details we have been given could be false, just to keep the gossip up and to avoid too much expectation to build until the first trailer. pictures could be taken at purposely misleading times, seeing as how there's still almost a year to go, and they're filming already, Church in the promo pic as Sandman, and Topher with a camera could be posed for purposely. I just think, even now seeing Grace in costume, he's no Brock or Venom, way too skinny, it ruins the character if he's just a jealous little snot, he was supposed to lose it all after Spiderman made a fool of him in the Sin Eater case, maybe that could be Topher as Cassidy/Sin Eater (for movie sake), and Venom will split and form Carnage, or perhaps their will just be both symbiotes as different entities, but Tom Church is honestly one of the best choices for Brock/Venom I could have imagined, and I can't see Raimi just missing that possiblity for double the stakes with 2 villians(Venom, Carnage, and even Harry), yet keeping one theme, and not throwing in a random villian for Spidey to beat easily (Sandman). Maybe I'll have to agree with what Raimi's choosing to do, but I won't do it until I see a trailer with a Sandman fight and hardly any Venom, becuz Raimi is a filmaker who usually utilizes his possibilities (Evil Dead 1 & 2, word) and to mess this up would be tragic

I won't be convinced this is a real spiderman sequal untill i see Bruce Campbell in one of these picture.

Lookin' good, lookin' good. James Cromwell doing some of his usual character roles. He's good, though, no doubt about it.

Is that Sam Raimi in some of those pics, with grey hair and a beer gut? Age sure isn't treating him too nicely...

Nothingelse particularly special in the photos, except for that beautiful blonde bombshell in them.
