Transformers set pics
UPDATE: Sorry, guys...Paramount wanted these pictures down so down they be.
Transformersthemovie.info has brought us some nice images from the movie's set in New Mexico. What we get here is pretty much a menagerie of about a half dozen of the film's vehicles from mucho angles which is, you know, pretty damn awesome! I mean, these might seem like regular old cars and trucks and tanks, but I have a sneaking suspicion there's "more than meets the"... Ow! Somebody just punched me in the eye! There also seems to be a (somewhat obscured) picture of some sort of pyrotechnic goodness going on. Click on any of the images below for the full gallery. Thanks to Adam for the tip. TRANSFORMERS opens a year from this Fourth of July.
Transformers P.S: Nick the 'ElderPredator' has pointed out to us that the animated TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE will be getting a 20th anniversary DVD treatment this November. No surprises here but, man, what a great movie with a great soundtrack. "You got the touch! You got the poweeer!." Read about it at that movie's website HERE.

'palerower' also questions the validity of these pics actually being from the set, particularly because the walls behind the Buffalo in that picture are identical to walls built in Iraq and Kuwait. I inquired whether it's possible if, since the shoot is partially on a base in New Mexico, the walls could've been built there, as well. It is very possible that the 'Buffalo' is not to actually appear in the movie but is on the set for use. I'll let you know how that turns out when it does.
FURTHER UPDATE: 'palerower' concurs that the it's very possible the walls could have also been built at the White Sands missile base in New Mexico.
There has also been questioning of why the cop car would have a Decepticon logo on it when the known cop car Transformer , Prowl, is an Autobot. There seems to be a lot of confidence among the Transformers sites that what we see in this picture is indeed a cop car DECEPTICON that apparently goes by the name of 'Brawl.' As far as I know, this hasn't been officially confirmed but seems in keeping with other name/character changes and modifications reported on the movie.
FURTHER UPDATE: 'palerower' also tells us that 'Brawl' is indeed a toy from the Generation One toy collection, although its non-robot form was that of an Abrams tank. Again, though, this does fall in line with what seems to be the movie's tendency to modify characters' names and characteristics.
THANKS, 'PALEROWER'!
Finally, the Latin phrase on the cop car Decepticon emblem translates roughly to something like "Peace through Traquility."
