Strike Back below!
by: Ben Barna May. 1, 2008

Hey everyone. So I’m at home now, a bit buzzed after having drank six bottles of Pabst Blue Ribbon. And I’m here writing my final JoBlo.com article of the evening, while an epic battle of wills occurs inside me. I don’t have a lot of money and I worry about my weight, even though I’m by no means fat. My problem is, do I leave the house and buy a two-dollar pint of coconut fudge ice cream from the corner store, and then eat the whole thing tonight-- and yes, if I buy it, I'll eat the whole thing tonight. It’s almost 1:30 AM, so I could easily finish this article, put my laundry away, go to bed, and feel much better tomorrow morning that I didn’t spend the money or ingest the calories. Or I could be hedonistic, head out right now, buy the ice cream, and absolutely destroy it in twenty minutes of sheer bliss, double-chin be damned. What do you guys think I should do? And more important, what do you think I did?

Too Funny!
I always look forward to your posts Ben because I always get a laugh. Hey Jo! NOT all of us are young.... I remember back in the 70s in Alberta there was this horrible thing called a "beer strike". All summer long we could not get Canadian beer. Summers are HOT in Alberta. What we did get was imported American beer and, after numerous samplings, Pabst Blue Ribbon was the clear winner IMO. ...

lightening up required
To those dissing Ben's article above, it's to note that this site is called JOBLO.COM and not TIME MAGAZINE. We are a bunch of young guys/gals who dig movies, dig humor and enjoy drinking and cavorting around. I believe that's part of our site's success...that we don't just CUT/PASTE stories from YAHOO NEWS and keep our opinions or humor in-house.

So just because Barna writes one...

I believe that's part of our site's success...that we don't just CUT/PASTE stories from YAHOO NEWS and keep our opinions or humor in-house.

So just because Barna writes one VERY FUNNY ARTICLE (in my opinion) out of the 20,000 articles on our site, all of a sudden it means that I'm not running a tight ship?

Some of the readers below need to "lighten up". Granted, humor is subjective and you certainly don't need to think this is FUNNY, but our site is ORIGINAL and CREATIVE, and so expect that to continue into the future. We're not gonna sit there and keep writing up a MILLION "DARK KNIGHT" stories without having a little fun with them every now and again...

It's just movie news, people...we're not curing cancer.

Mmmm ... coconut fudge. If it was me, I'd skip on the ice cream (no sugar before bed) and get some tacos, instead. Mmmm ... tacos.

Eat the ice-cream, or you will regret about it for the rest of your life. Every time you see a little boogger eating an ice-cream you will start sobbing and then beat the little shit to get some because you denied yourself of that some drunk and sad evening.

Ps: I know you bought it 'cus noone talks about it soo much and then wimps out. So, eat up tubby.

LAME
I believe this is the lamest article I've ever seen on this website. Remember when Berge had aspirations of being professional and publishing books and shit? Now his staff blogs while drunk. Sad.

WOULD HAVE LOVED AN [R]
I would have loved to see a big [R] get smacked on TDK, but heck, who am I kidding...no matter how intense the violence gets, it's never gonna' get that wonderful [R]. Oh well, I still can't wait anyway. And hey, tp4ever84, if you wanna' see boobies in a Batman flick I suggest you go rent Batman Forever. That one's got rubber tities, baby!

I'd get the ice cream, but then the prospect of me ever developing flab before middle age is slim to none i.e. I'm wafer thin.

I can think of plenty of films that had ratings different from the first. Usually it's a PG to PG-13, and occasionally the dreaded R to PG-13. Or in the case of the loose Jack Ryan series, it was PG to R to PG-13 to PG-13.

Don't get the ice cream. Twenty minutes of bliss does not beat a lifetime of being able to walk without blowing both of your knees out.

Not suprised. Batman Begins was rated pg-13 and I don't know of any sequel that has ever gone on to have a different rating. Are we going to see blood yes! Are we going to see boobs no :( Are people going to die yes!!! "Starting tonight... people will die. I'm a man of my word,"
