   Cap Rocks!

Die-hard fans of Captain America who've been jonesing for his own film (a good one, that is, 'cause...yeah...) will be in for a treat, apparently. Can't say what kind of treat, but Marvel' chief editor Joe Quesada says you are. Ready to believe him?

Handling his own little Q&A last weekend at the Big Apple Comic Con, Quesada started off with a "no-comment" quick dismissal on the Disney purchase thingie, then went off into the good stuff, notably gushing out on what's ahead for Captain America on the big screen.

"I've seen a couple of outlines and an initial screenplay, and it's going to rock everyone's socks off,"Joe said as reported by the folks of Comic Book Resources. "It's very unexpected, the kind of movie it is,"he expressed before adding that the people behind it have an "undisclosed" wish list of actors. Can we disclose our wish list of directors, 'cause Joe Johnston, aside from OCTOBER SKY, ya know...

Quesada also mentioned he knows nothing about Spidey 4 (being that it's with Sony) but is a huge Sam Raimi fan, and the Marvel character he feels works best on screen as opposed to the pages would be Blade. Head on OVER HERE to read the full report on his panel, thanks to Coming Soon for pointing it out.

Source: Comic Book Ressource.

Extra Tidbit: I would've seen Neil McDonough play Steve Rogers, but 10 years ago - already a bit too old. And my second choice Christian Kane is a tad bit short. So I'm sticking with Alexander Skarsgard. Who says who?

I'll keep saying it til something happens...
Paul Walker for Cap Am. BTW, just thought of this... I know he's not an obvious option, but what about Christopher Walken as Red Skull? He'd be the first guy to play a villain in Marvel and DC!

Thomas Jane for Captain America. I could also see Matthew Fox being a good Captain America as well.

I would prefer an unknown, but,
if has to be a known actor, the only choice that doesn't make me want to throw up is Nathan Fillion

Can't wait for a Cap movie!
aside from the 1990 one that is. And who should play him? I'm still saying Patrick Wilson would be awesome or Chris Pine.

I hope their wish list isn't crowded with many (or any) A-list actors. I think they need someone who's recognizable, but not so famous that they'll draw attention away from the character. Personally, I've always been partial to Adam Baldwin as Cap.

I thought a slightly buffed up Pitt would be good for the role, but Ackles could be good too. Maybe Chris Pine, but while we're on the Star Trek cast, how about Karl Urban?

While I'm not that familiar with Johnston as a whole I think hes got it in him. Seeing Rocketeer in the theater as a kid blew my young mind. As far as casting, as much as I'd like Cap to be played by an American Sam Worthington does seem like a great choice.

I've said Sam Worthington for a bit older Cap, or Jensen Ackles for a younger Cap (though he'd need to bulk up a little).

Skarsgard
I've been on the Skarsgard bandwagon ever since 'Generation Kill' came out. Weird how 'Kill' fans see him as Cap, but True Blood fans wanted him as Thor.

Aaron Eckhart, but he may seems a little too old since Rogers is younger when he enlist.

At this point just give him a superhero franchise. Don't really care which one, it just needs to be done...

I just wanna say about Joe Johnston, he also made "The Rocketeer," which I'm willing to bet is the reason he got this gig.

Skarsgard!
After seening Generation Kill, I know Skarsgard can pull off playing an American, and part of me thinks this is why he didn't get cast in Thor.

Casting
I think Nathan Fillion, of Firefly fame, should don the red, white, and blue... the man has a chin like a hero and an attitude to match!
