First image from Wrath of the Titans

Did you know that CLASH OF THE TITANS made $493.2 million worldwide last year? Neither did I. Despite middling opinions on the film from critics and fans alike money talks, and WRATH OF THE TITANS is on the way.

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly has the first look at what Sam Worthington looks like and while it's not much of a surprise, he does look angry and ready to take care of business. Here's the full synopsis of the film-

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth.

Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Worthington himself admitted that the film wasn't as good as it could have been, so hopefully they will step things up.

Hopefully we will get to see some actual fucking TITANS, unlike what the first movie's title suggested.

Sam Worthington is a fine enough actor, but if he wants to do these kind of roles he needs to bulk up for fucks sake. Aside for costing half as much as other leads, what makes him so attractive to studios? I don't think his name puts people in theater seats, and his sky rocketing popularity feels premature.

I enjoyed Clash at some extent. It wasn't a complete failure as some claim to be. I wonder if they'll follow the God of War route with Cronos, what I mean by that is: will they make him a huge badass Titan?

Please be awesome!

I think the biggest problem of the 1st one was that it was too short, it felt like it was just rushed along which hurts the story and character development. An hour and half is to short for a movie that's suppose to be epic. Hopefully this one will be better, wasn't a big fan of Clash. The old classic Clash is awesome though. I would like to see Peter Jackson or Del Toro do a remake of the 7th Voyage of Sinbad.

I find Sam Worthington to be very bland as an action hero. However, stick Bill Nighy into any movie and you exponentially increase its awesomeness.

Abrams himself denies Del Toro is Khan.
Also, Worthington with long hair looks strangely weird.

This sounds worse than I imagined. Why did they write out the only decent character in the craptastic original (Arterton's Io)? Also, why is half this plot sound just like the bad-ass "Immortals"?

There are also a few similarities to the Percy Jackson series. I don't know if they're gonna make the sequels to that movie because it didn't do so well.

Plot sounds almost identical to that episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, when Ares releases 2 Titans to overthrow Zeus.
That's not to say this movie is ripping off Hercules, since most Greek mythology stories are a lot alike.

God...

Can Sam be an actor and bulk for the character at least a bit to resemble an average demigod?
