Trailer for Bigfoot horror movie Willow Creek from Bobcat Goldthwait

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The legend of Bigfoot is getting the found footage treatment from none other than comedian turned actor Bobcat Goldthwait (Officer Zed!). He’s done the work for us by describing WILLOW CREEK it as "The Blair-Squatch Project"; I see what he did there.

Here’s the synopsis:

Set in Humboldt County, California, Willow Creek centers on Jim (Bryce Johnson) a Bigfoot believer whose idea of a romantic getaway is to head deep into Six Rivers National Forest in Northern California, video camera in tow, trying to shoot his own Bigfoot footage. His long-suffering girlfriend, Kelly (Alexie Gilmore,), agrees to tag along for the ride, despite the fact that she thinks Bigfoot has about as much chance of being real as leprechauns.

There's always one guy who won't shut off the camera even to save his life; that’s how movies are made I guess. We saw the first glimpse of the movie almost a year ago and now it's finally getting a limited theater release and will be on VOD. This looks very different from what I've come to expect from the offbeat filmmaker; if you have seen Bobcat’s fantastic WORLD'S GREATEST DAD or GOD BLESS AMERICA then you will understand what I mean. The tried and tired found footage element might actually help with this otherwise boring premise.

Does anyone still believe in Bigfoot?

WILLOW CREEK arrives in theaters and VOD June 6th 2014.
