Daniel Radcliffe Jungle

Although he likely could have chosen any big blockbuster following the final HARRY POTTER film, Daniel Radcliffe has largely stayed within the realm of theater and independent film, which had led to some very unique movies such as SWISS ARMY MAN. Radcliffe's next project will find the actor once again lost in the great outdoors as he struggles to survive against the elements.

JUNGLE is based on "Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival in the Amazon" and tells the true-story of Yossi Ghinsberg, an Israeli backpacker who set off from the Bolivian city of La Paz with two friends on what was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime. An Austrian expat by the name of Karl Ruprechter (Thomas Kretschmann) had met the friends just days before and led the way into the Amazon as he claimed to be familiar with the region. However, their adventure of a lifetime soon turned into a nightmare as the group broke apart and Ghinsberg found himself lost and alone in the jungle.

"The jungle shows us what we really are."

I love a good survival thriller and, based on this trailer, it looks as though I might be able to add JUNGLE to that list. Daniel Radcliffe's character goes through some serious shit in the Greg McLean (THE BELKO EXPERIMENT) directed flick, such as nearly drowning, being covered in giant red ants and his foot beginning to rot away. Just another night out on the town.

A synopsis of "Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival in the Amazon" via Amazon:

Four travelers meet in Bolivia and set off into the heart of the Amazon rainforest, but what begins as a dream adventure quickly deteriorates into a dangerous nightmare, and after weeks of wandering in the dense undergrowth, the four backpackers split up into two groups. But when a terrible rafting accident separates him from his partner, Yossi is forced to survive for weeks alone against one of the wildest backdrops on the planet. Stranded without a knife, map, or survival training, he must improvise shelter and forage for wild fruit to survive. As his feet begin to rot during raging storms, as he loses all sense of direction, and as he begins to lose all hope, he wonders whether he will make it out of the jungle alive.

JUNGLE will debut at Australia’s Melbourne International Film Festival on August 3, 2017.
