Cool Video: Mortal Kombat trailer done in LEGO!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

So this is fun! YouTuber Jekester recreated the recent Mortal Kombat reboot red band trailer entirely in LEGO! You check out the cute (but still gruesome!) creation at the top of the article, and below is the official video description:

After a month of animating and editing, I finally finished the recreation. I really wanted to practice on fight animations for so long I feel like the Mortal Kombat trailer was perfect for practice. I wanted to edit the music to be a little accurate, but it sounded bad in my ears, so I kept the trailer's original audio. It's not that it's bad, I just want to experiment with audio mixing. Special Thanks to CMF Edits for making Johnny Cage. Definitely follow him on Instagram, he makes great stuff!

And here's the official synopsis for the film itself:

A washed-up mixed martial arts fighter named Cole Young is unaware of his hidden lineage or why he is being hunted down by Sub-Zero of the Lin-Kuei clan of assassins. Concerned for the safety of his family, he seeks out a clique of fighters that were chosen to defend Earthrealm in a high-stakes battle against the forces of Outworld in a inter-dimensional fighting tournament that occurs once in a generation. Appearances to be made by Shang Tsung, Goro, Jax Briggs, Sonya Blade, Kano, Scorpion and more fan favorites!

Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat – directed by Simon McQuoid and starring Lewis Tan, Joe Taslim, Josh Lawson, Jessica McNamee, and Hiroyuki Sanada – will get over here to select theaters and HBO Max April 23rd!

So what do you guys think? And would you buy a Mortal Kombat LEGO set if it existed? Either way, sound off below!
