Back in April, Star Wars fans who were fortunate enough to attend this year's Star Wars Celebration Chicago were treated to a bit of exclusive footage hailing from Jon Favreau's Disney+ series THE MANDALORIAN. Meanwhile, all of us other saps who had other plans were left out in the cold, wondering what could have been. In the months prior to the annual gathering of fans from across a galaxy far, far away, our hatred for those lucky individuals had taken root, the seeds eventually growing into a world tree of of despair, jealousy, and pain. Heh. I'm just kidding. It wasn't really like that. In fact, those who did see the footage were more than happy to share the experience with others, though there's nothing quite like seeing it for yourself.

Thankfully, The Hollywood Reporter has recently confirmed that the first trailer for THE MANDALORIAN will premiere on August 23 at Walt Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. However, before you go getting all excited, it's probably worth mentioning that there's a chance that the footage will again be exclusive to that event. Damn you, Disney! What's a Star Wars fan got to do to get some Boba Fett up in here?

Okay, let's all take a deep breath and look at the facts. Yes, Disney does have a habit of making their trailers exclusive to big time events, but with only three months left until the show lands on Disney+, there's a high probability that the House of Mouse will be kind enough to share the trailer with all the world. Granted, the trailer might not go global on the same day as the D23 showcase, but it will likely emerge shortly thereafter. I suppose we'll take what we can get, right?

Here's the official synopsis for THE MANDALORIAN:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

From the beautiful brain of Jon Favreau, THE MANDALORIAN stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. The series is scheduled for a November 12 debut on Disney+, the studio's exclusive streaming service. Get ready to pony up, Mouseketeers.
