Adam McCay’s Dick Cheney project gets new title, trailer and release date

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

For those of you who enjoy following the transformative exploits of AMERICAN PSYCHO and THE MACHINIST actor Christian Bale, you are likely to be interested in knowing that Academy Award-winner Adam McCay's previously UNTITLED DICK CHENEY PROJECT is now titled VICE. In the upcoming biographical drama, Bale stars as Dick Cheney, an American politician and businessman who served as the Vice President of the United States to President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009.

McCay's political drama is set to explore the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today. Starring alongside Bale, who looks almost unrecognizable as the portly political figure, are  Amy Adams, Steve Carrell, Sam Rockwell, Jesse Plemons, Alison Pill, Lily Rabe, Tyler Perry, Justin Kirk, Lisagay Hamilton, Shea Whigham and Eddie Marsan

While a simple photo of a husky Bale doesn't help to paint too great a picture of what his final look for Cheney will be, Annapurna has also stated that an official trailer for the film will be released on October 3rd. Meanwhile, VICE is set to open in theaters on Christmas Day 2018, and will be a production staged by Annapurna Pictures, Gary Sanchez and Plan B. Be sure to swing back around on October 3rd when the first trailer drops to see Bale's Cheney is full-effect.
