Over the course of 35 years, legendary B-movie maker Albert Pyun racked up almost 50 director credits for himself, and although his output has slowed down in recent years while he battles multiple sclerosis, he still has several projects in the works – including a sequel to his biggest franchise.

During the 1990s, Pyun told the story of a dystopian future through the sci-fi thriller NEMESIS franchise, which envisioned a war between humans and cyborgs. Kickboxer Olivier Gruner starred in the first film, with bodybuilder Sue Price taking over for NEMESIS 2: NEBULA (which featured future JOHN WICK co-director Chad Stahelski as the Nebula creature), NEMESIS 3: TIME LAPSE, and NEMESIS 4: DEATH ANGEL.

More than twenty years after the fourth film was made, Pyun is executive producing NEMESIS 5 alongside Jason Bracht.

Sue Price is back for NEMESIS 5, which is directed by Dustin Ferguson from a screenplay by Mike Reeb. The story:

It is the year 2077 and terrorist organization known as The Red Army Hammerheads now dominate the Earth. The fate of humanity now rests in the hands of The New Model, Ari Frost. Trained under the wing of Alex Rain (Price), she must form an army of Cyborg Humans to take down the regime and regain control. After all, 86.5% is still considered human…

Price's co-stars include Schuylar Craig as Ari Frost, Dawna Lee Heising as Barbie, and Mel Novak as The Leader of the Red Army Hammerheads.

NEMESIS 5 is currently making its way through post-production, and below you can see a newly released poster for the film, a pair of character lobby cards, an early trailer, and a couple clips.

It's been quite a while since I watched the NEMESIS movies, but I have good memories of watching them in my childhood. I'm excited that a new sequel is being made, and I'm glad Pyun was able to take part in the production.
