Writer/director Andrew Niccol (GOOD KILL, GATTACA) is gearing up for another possible look into the future. This time the story will focus on a detective in a world with no privacy, ignorance or anonymity. Everyone's lives are transparent, traceable and recorded by the authorities. It’s the end of crime, it seems. However, when the detective (Clive Owen) stumbles on a young woman with no digital footprint and invisible to the police, he discovers it may not be the end of crime but the beginning. It looks like that woman will be portrayed by none other than Amanda Seyfried.
Seyfried and Niccol worked together on the half-baked idea that was IN TIME, so here's hoping Niccol has something a little more fleshed out for ANON. While Clive Owen has been tearing it up on The Knick, I'm afraid that I haven't really seen Seyfried in anything noteworthy lately. Hopefully ANON changes that!
ANON will hit theaters sometime in 2017.
