Beavis and Butthead

The great Cornholio rides again!

In news that, honestly, I never saw coming, Deadline is reporting that Comedy Central has just inked a two-season deal to bring an all-new "Beavis and Butt-Head" revival to the network as part of their revamped animated slate. In the most welcome news of all, the show's original creator Mike Judge will be back to write, produce and, natch, voice the titular duo.

Anyone who grew up in the nineties can tell you, "Beavis and Butt-Head" was a generation-defining show, with it originally having aired on MTV and spawning a movie, BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD DO AMERICA, that was such a big hit I'm shocked that we never got.a sequel. It remains to be seen how such an iconic Gen-X duo will be updated to Gen-Z, but Judge's track record since "Beavis and Butt-Head" has been outstanding, with "King of the Hill" a juggernaut in its own right, OFFICE SPACE going on to cult status and IDIOCRACY becoming more prescient by the day.

For their part, Chris McCarthy of Comedy Central told Deadline that “Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.”

I wonder if they'll still diss music videos?
