While I haven't seen the A&E show BATES MOTEL – with Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga as Norman Bates and his mother, respectively – I am a huge fan of the original PSYCHO. And with only one more episode left in the series, it'll be interesting to see how close it keeps in line with that original film. Obviously being contemporary changes things, as does the new actors' interpretations of the characters. Let's just hope it's more fun HANNIBAL-esque homage, and less '98 PSYCHO disaster.

The snippets from the script were a…random touch. But the trailer overall was certainly moody, gory, and creepy, so it's got that going for it. Honestly, was never really interested in the show before, but this looks like it's really swinging for the fences in terms of how incestuous and fucked up it gets. So I'll probably check it out at some point, just to see if it is indeed as crazy as the trailer makes it look.
Meanwhile, the final episode "The Cord" will premiere on A&E April 24th.
