I’m having a love affair with this recut STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON trailer. Why, you ask? Because I’m a huge Ben Folds fan, and instead of an N.W.A. song playing over the trailer, it is set to his cover of Dr. Dre’s “Bitches Ain’t Shit.” Just be careful where you watch it though, because it’s definitely NSFW.
The Folds version was released in 2005, and reached number 71 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The piano-playing singer and songwriter is known for including the tune in his live performances, and although in 2008 Folds claimed he was going to retire it because people kept calling him “that ‘Bitch’ guy” in front of his kids, he still occasionally uses it as one of his encore songs.
STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON is still going strong at the box office, and so far has grossed about $140 million worldwide.
