The LOGAN trailer was so good it could put people into a euphoria-induced coma. Seriously. I know someone who watched it, their brain filled with what doctors call “happiness goo”, and he promptly went into an indefinite slumber. They are currently monitoring him. Anyway, the application of the song Hurt by Johnny Cash over the movie's dramatic footage had a poignant effect, solidifying the movie will be unlike any other comic book film to date. So, of course it makes sense to see if the style could have the same impact when applied to other movie trailers. So of course it's best to start with another X-MEN movie, and quite frankly one of the best: X2: X-MEN UNITED. Given a black and white filter to add a bit more ambiance, the music works just as well here over a montage of the movie's more subtle moments, before transitioning to the big action scenes. The video by Sam Ibrahim proves several things: 1.) The song works over ANYTHING; 2.) I will miss Hugh Jackman as Wolverine more than you could possibly know; 3.) It's really hard coming up with three things. Enjoy!
