For the past few years, diehard fans of DREDD have let their feelings be known: A sequel is needed – nay – necessary. Though the Pete Travis-directed thriller was a box office flop, it found a devoted following, especially after hitting Blu-ray and DVD. Star Karl Urban has been quite vocal with his support of the idea, but there hasn’t been any significant movement on the project that we’ve heard of. (Although, of course, there are always reportedly “conversations taking place.”)

But never count the fans out; they want them some more DREDD, and they want it now. A petition in favor of a sequel to nutso action flick has been circulating the net for over a year, racking up over 125,000 signatures. Whether or not the powers that be care about it is another matter, but the campaign is looking to gain some more steam, with October 1st being declared “Day of Dredd,” in honor of making a big push for more names on the petition. Sign it for yourself right HERE.

You can add one more voice to the chorus: Olivia Thirlby, who played Dredd’s clairvoyant partner Anderson in the first film. Thirlby let the dedicated supporters know how grateful she is for their passion, saying, “…we really want to bring you a Dredd 2, and we will do anything we can to make it happen.”

Check out Olivia’s video below and let us know how badly YOU want a DREDD 2.
