Emilia Clarke heads to the 1950s for thriller Voice from the Stone

The beautiful and talented Emilia Clarke has wasted no getting to work since last night's epic GAME OF THRONES signing on for a psychological thriller. VOICE FROM THE STONE is an adaption of the Italian novel of the same name by Silvio Raffo and will be directed by Eric Howell who will be making his feature directorial debut.

Here is the synopsis:

Set in 1950s Tuscany, Voice From the Stone tells the haunting story of a nurse (Clarke) who helps a boy deal with the trauma of his mother's sudden death. As she works with the troubled child, she becomes ensnared by a malevolent force trapped inside the family's castle.

If you're going to point out that this post was merely an excuse to get pictures of Clarke up, then you're mostly right. I love me some period thrillers though; PERFUME, FROM HELL, and SHUTTER ISLAND are all great examples of well executed movies that also seemed to divide audiences. Clarke is currently filming the role of Sarah Connor in TERMINATOR: GENESIS and VOICE FROM THE STONE is set to begin filming this November.

It will be interesting to see Clarke in a roll where she's not necessarily the most confident person in the room; Sarah Conner and Daenerys Targaryen are tough women. This is why Emilia Clarke is great; she can do it all while looking like she does – simply amazing.
