Rian Johnson’s upcoming sci-fi time-travel actioner LOOPER is set to hit theaters next week, but there’s still more cool stuff coming down the pipe up until it’s wide release.  Today, we have an exclusive poster for the film, which is serving as a lead-in to a LOOPER animation piece set to debut Monday on Apple.  The marketing machine for the film has been working overtime to promote the film, which is shaping up to be a solid entry in the genre.  Our own Chris Bumbray saw the film at TIFF and gave it a glowing review, so my anticipation has grown tremendously.

Get in the “loop” with this sweet “animation” poster:

I’m not sure what the animation piece will look like, but I’m interested to see what it is.  It’s not always easy to shy away from spoilers and I’ve tried to be careful about not getting too deep in the details for LOOPER.  From the reviews (sitting at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes as I type this) so far it sounds like something special and I’d hate to ruin that by simply knowing too much.  That said, I give kudos to the marketing department for not spilling all the beans and giving us the proper amount of “teases” (like this poster) and not flat-out revelations.

LOOPER, starring Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, and Paul Dano will hit theaters on September 28, 2012.
