Don Cheadle recently confirmed his fan-favorite MCU character, James “Rhodey” Rhodes, will "show up" in the upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The Academy Award-nominated actor said as much during an interview with BroBible’s Post-Credit Podcast, where he dished on details for some of Marvel's upcoming projects bound for Disney+.

“That’s some of the fun of the MCU, that we all get to show up in each other’s stories, and there are ways that we’re cross-platforming these characters, and they become storylines, sometimes, in the movies. And then these storylines in the movies become storylines in the shows,” Cheadle explained to BroBible.

“It’s really fun and interesting and, by all imagination, completely open-ended — this can go anywhere. It’s great, I can’t wait to get in the room with the writers and figure out how all those things [connecting Armor Wars to the MCU] happen. You know, Rhodey shows up in Winter Soldier and Falcon’s show. So, it can be a lot.”

During his time with BroBible, Cheadle also revealed that Tony Stark's death will "play a role" in the events of Armor Wars, the upcoming Disney+ series that features his War Machine character. He also informed the outlet that writing for Armor Wars is slated to begin next month.

“The death of Tony Stark, I’m pretty sure, will play a role in the series,” Cheadle said. "Where we’ve been sort of progressing Rhodey—even in the last film where he’s now up again and he’s now walking again and he’s now mobile again—so as the technology continues to develop and we keep making innovations in the suit and what happens, I imagine there’s gonna be another elevation and another way that we’re going to keep digging into that part of Rhodey.

"But really, figuring out a way to bridge what’s happening in the comic books with what’s happening on screen in the MCU and how we’re going to make those worlds work, that’s really exciting.”

Huzzah! It's a great day to be a War Machine fan, which I most certainly am. Hearing that Rhodey will make an appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier now has me even more excited for that series, and knowing that there's more to come, that's just fantastic! Lots of thrilling things are on the horizon for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Let's do this!

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier lands on Disney+ on Friday, March 19, 2021. The upcoming series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, and Daniel Brühl as the villainous Zemo, among several others.

BroBible's full interview with MCU star is expected to drop later this week, so be sure to check it out.
