Disney has found a profitable niche in turning some of their classic animated features into live-action fare. While I've yet to find anyone who actually enjoyed Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND, that flick went on to gross over $1 billion worldwide. MALEFICENT was no slouch either in bringing home $750 million, and now the next up on the live-action slate is CINDERELLA. Directed by Kenneth Branagh (THOR, HAMLET), CINDERELLA doesn't look to deviate much from the classic tale we all know, judging from the first theatrical trailer.

I'm not saying this is going to be a great film, but the fact that it's not chock full of CGI is a relief. That alone makes this film look better than ALICE or MALEFICENT by leaps and bounds. There doesn't seem to be as much "action" as those two, but they're obviously not catering to that crowd here. Ya know what? Fine by me. Given the slew of great actors on board, I wouldn't mind seeing this flick one bit.

CINDERELLA will hit theaters on March 13, 2015.
