Future Vestron releases to include Waxworks, the Living Dead, and a CHUD

Return of the Living Dead III

Yesterday, we shared the details on the first two movies Lionsgate will be giving the special edition Blu-ray treatment and releasing as part of the Vestron Video Collector's Series, Jim Wynorski's CHOPPING MALL and Jackie Kong's BLOOD DINER.

The company has since put out a press release that reveals the next batch of films that will come out as part of the series. They are –

A double feature of Anthony Hickox's 1988 film WAXWORK and its 1992 sequel WAXWORK II: LOST IN TIME

RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD III

C.H.U.D. II: BUD THE CHUD

This announcement is great news for fans of the WAXWORK movies, who have long been clamoring and petitioning for Lionsgate to put the duology out on Blu-ray. RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD III hitting Blu is also good news, although I'm holding off on getting excited until I hear whether or not this release will feature the much preferred unrated cut.

There's probably less excitement out there for C.H.U.D. II: BUD THE CHUD than any of the other Vestron movies that have been revealed so far, but I know that film does have its fans, including viewers who enjoy it more than the first C.H.U.D., which it is nothing like.

Vestron Video Collector's Series titles will only be available for a limited time. Every title will be transferred from the original film elements to high-definition Blu-ray, and the discs will be packed with special features.

CHOPPING MALL and BLOOD DINER will be released on September 27th. We'll keep you updated as more details are revealed on the releases of WAXWORK / WAXWORK II, RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD III, and C.H.U.D. II: BUD THE CHUD.
