Harold Ramis’ daughter gives her thoughts on CGI Egon in new Ghostbusters

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It was just last week that we shared with you guys the news that Ivan Reitman – director of the original GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS 2, and producer of the recent reboot and untitled new film – said the new movie may include a CGI-recreation of Harold Ramis’ character Egon.

I was on the fence about his inclusion after death, but today Ramis’ daughter Violet Ramis Stiel spoke to THR about her father’s possible CGI inclusion into the new film, and she’s (mostly) up for it.

Here are her thoughts:

I try to think what would he have thought. If it’s great and it works, then good. And if there is a problem, then obviously no. It’s bizarre. Personally, for me, it is hard to imagine that people would accept it, but who knows. The technology now is amazing.

Well, that settles that now doesn’t it? If Ramis’ family is behind the inclusion of CGI Egon then who am I to argue? Bring it on. But let’s make it work! And more Slimer this time too, by the way.

What are your thoughts on the new GHOSTBUSTERS movie having a CGI Egon? Make sure to hit us up on social media and let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
