The Hateful Eight Samuel L. Jackson cast

Throughout his storied career, Samuel L. Jackson has worked alongside some of the best actors that Hollywood has to offer, though it appears as if his Tarantino crew rises above the rest. Recently while accepting the Legend of Cinema Award at the 2020 SCAD Savannah Film Festival (via Entertainment Weekly), Jackson got to talking about his fellow castmembers from Quentin Tarantino's THE HATEFUL EIGHT, and more specifically how they provided him with his strongest film bond to date. When you stop to consider that Jackson is also a part of both the Marvel and Star Wars collective, it paints the Hateful Eight cast as something that is truly special, does it not?

“The haters from ‘Hateful Eight,’ we have a chain where we still text each other every week to say where are you, what are you doing, or we’re commenting on the political situation. That’s the strongest cinematic connection I’ve ever had,” Jackson revealed during the look-back at his illustrious career.

Who is Jackson reaching out to in these weekly text sessions, you ask? Well, according to my calculations, The Hateful Eight stars Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, who is joined by Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, and Walton Goggins, for Tarantino's Western crime drama. Can you imagine being a part of a text chain that star-studded? What do they even talk about? Who's got the best homemade recipe for cornbread? Who's at their wits' end with regard to online schooling? Inquiring minds want to know.

Regardless of Jackson's strong connection to his Hateful Eight, the film itself is not one that the actor screens on-repeat while relaxing at home. In fact, Jackson previously revealed at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival that Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown are the two Tarantino features he revisits the most. Well, how do you like that? It turns out that Mr. Jackson and I have something in common in that Jackie Brown also happens to be my favorite among Tarantino's films. Perhaps we should do lunch sometime?

Which of Tarantino's films is your favorite? To that same end, what is your favorite film starring Samuel L. Jackson? For me, it's a toss-up between The Long Kiss Goodnight, National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, and The Incredibles. Sound off in the comments section below and give us your list of favorites.
