Actress Lily Collins drops out of The Evil Dead remake! Who will star now?!

Earlier this month word got out that hottie Lily Collins would be starring in Fede Alvarez’s THE EVIL DEAD remake. How did that make you feel? If you weren’t digging the news then I’m sure you’ll love today’s update!

According to Variety’s Jeff Sneider via his Twitter page, Collins has dropped out of the project! Peep the ‘tweet:’

“EXCLUSIVE: Due to date issues, LILY COLLINS will not be able to star in THE EVIL DEAD reboot!”

Oh those darn ‘date issues!’ It seems now we’re right back to square one. As I said, if you weren’t digging Collins (below) in the lead for this one then I’m sure you’re jumping for joy right now. Personally it’s hard for me to get excited for this flick considering how legend.. wait for it.. dary the first film is but that’s not to say I won’t give this one a chance. I’m pretty much in the ‘eh’ stage of THE EVIL DEAD if that makes sense.

In THE EVIL DEAD, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Shooting on THE EVIL DEAD is set to kick off later this year in New Zealand with an April 12, 2013 release date already set.
