The Arrow
interviews Aimee Brooks

Hottie Aimee Brooks has appeared in genre films of the likes of
“Sorority House Massacre” and “Critters 3”. She now hops on the horror train again in Lion’s Gate’s upcoming
monster ride
“Monster Man”. I got to shoot the shite with Miss Brooks and here’s what
came out of it.

ARROW:
What’s your
favorite horror movie?

AB: “
The
Omen” kicks ass!

ARROW:
How did you fall
in the acting game? Was it a long-time goal or did it happen by fluke?

AB:

I
started acting when I was really young by putting on little plays for
my family. I always dreamed of being an actress and when I was 12
years old I became a professional. Nothing is a fluke in life. Even
when I was young, I knew exactly what I wanted and went for it.

ARROW:
You’ve been in a
couple of genre efforts, Sorority House Massacre, Critters 3 and
now Monster Man. How would you feel if the tag Scream Queen was
eventually attached to your name?

AB:

I can
scream with the best of them, but I’m not worried about being tagged a
scream queen. Although I would love to be Queen of something.

ARROW:
Taking into account the hilarious dialogue in Monster Man, did
you find it hard at times to keep a straight face during takes?

AB:

No.
Botox helps with that.

ARROW:
What was harder to
shoot for you, the running away from the truck scenes or the sex
scene? Why?

AB:

Running. Did you see the high heel boots they made me wear?!!

ARROW: I must
commend you on your Yoda impression. It had me laughing like a toddler
on helium. Was that bit scripted or did you improv that?

AB: I can’t
take credit for the idea. Michael Davis wrote the scene. I spent weeks
practicing Yoda on the phone with my brother. He had a very good
impression and I just copied
him. Of course, I didn’t tell him exactly what his
sister was going to do in the scene talking like Yoda. Oops! I guess
he’ll eventually find out.

ARROW:
How would you
describe the atmosphere on set? You guys must have had a blast
shooting this! Or am I wrong?

AB:

Of
course it was a blast. I have the best job in the world.

ARROW:
You’re presently
acting in a film called “The Hillside Strangler”. What can you tell us
about the movie and your character?

AB: I just
finished an independent film called “The Hillside Stranger” about
Buono and Bianchi, serial
killers in the 70’s that brutally murdered women in California. I play
one of the victims. It was extremely moving to work on the movie.
Never being a victim of  violence myself, I really had to put myself
in the shoes of my character. Believe me, those are shoes I don’t ever
want to wear in my life.

ARROW:
What’s next on
your plate after that acting wise?

AB:
I always
keep busy with acting class and writing when I’m waiting for my next
role. I’m currently writing a script which is a hilarious black
comedy about marriage.

ARROW:
When Aimee Brooks
isn’t running away from Monster Trucks, what does she do to cut the
edge off and relax?

AB:

Hey,
running from monster trucks is great exercise. Don’t knock it. Alas,
there aren’t many monster trucks in Hollywood, so I spend my extra
time reading, playing with my animals and doing girl stuff.

I’d like to thank Aimee for her time
and would like to wish her good luck in her future endeavors. Keep
doing horror Aimee! PLEASE!!!!
