Interview: Wesley Snipes and Don Cheadle!

JoBloJoBlo

Don Cheadle and Wesley Snipes have individually left their mark on Hollywood cinema with their past commanding and award-winning roles. Cheadle’s acclaimed performances include DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS, HOTEL RWANDA and CRASH, while Snipes is celebrated for his starring roles in JUNGLE FEVER, NEW JACK CITY and the BLADE franchise. It’s no wonder why director Antoine Fuqua was determined to pair the duo on-screen, despite Snipes’ recent tax problems, for his upcoming action-thriller BROOKLYN’S FINEST.

Starring alongside Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke and Will Patton, Snipes portrays an infamous, street-hustling drug dealer, while Cheadle plays an undercover cop, who is indebted to Snipes’ character for saving his life. Together, they demonstrate an organic chemistry in this ensemble piece, which translates magically on the silver screen. BROOKLYN’S FINEST will undoubtedly resonate with those who have witnessed the documented NYPD corruption and brutality, displayed in the film. I recently sat down with the stars to talk about their parts in the film, shooting in the Brooklyn ghetto, their upcoming projects and a possible reboot of the BLADE franchise. Check it out.
