Two weeks ago it was rumored that Jamie Foxx was up for the villain role in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, and that said villain would be none other than Electro.  Director Marc Webb then semi-confirmed the rumor while promoting the DVD/Blu-ray release of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, and now Foxx himself has spoken up and confirmed the rumor outright.  Or at least confirmed that 1) it’s a possibility and 2) he wants it the part.

“Fingers crossed it all works out.   I have a little daughter, four years old, and what’s crazy is like, this past year she had a birthday where Spider-Man was the theme… I haven’t sprung it on her yet, but she will go crazy!”

Interestingly, one thing I didn’t know was that Foxx even tweeted a hint at the incoming news back on November 1st: “Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night.  Costume fits well.”  Foxx doesn’t have a whole lot on the docket right now post promotional duties for DJANGO UNCHAINED, so I’m a bit hard pressed to think of a reason why this casting might not come to pass.  How are you feeling now that things are inching closer to fruition?
