Mad Max will be short one hottie as Teresa Palmer drives off of Fury Road

What’s going on with George Miller’s MAD MAX: FURY ROAD? It was way back in October of last year that we first heard that Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron would star in the sequel, but the production has just been sputtering ever since, amid rumors of cash problems (although Theron just recently mentioned it again.)

One person who won’t be spending time in the post-apocalyptic wasteland is lovely Aussie Teresa Palmer, who tells Coming Soon that she won’t be doing the movie after all: “That’s just a rumor that has been on the internet.”

Rumor? That seems like a weird dismissal, considering her involvement was actually announced in the trades, and her SORCERER’S APPRENTICE co-star Jay Baruchel previously claimed she would be “the main chick in FURY ROAD“.

Did Palmer’s contract negotiations fall apart? Did she find a bigger/better project, like the Michael Bay-produced, DJ Caruso-directed sci-fi tentpole I AM NUMBER FOUR? Or did she just get tired of locking up huge chunks of her schedule for Miller’s movies that may never come together? (You may recall she was also cast as the villainess Talia in Miller’s currently deceased JUSTICE LEAGUE movie.)

Either way, whenever Hardy hops in the last of the V8 Interceptors, he’ll have less eye candy to draw his attention from the white line highway.
