I remember THE MAGICAL SCHOOL books and cartoon as a kid, and I actually really enjoyed them. School always bored me, so the idea of escaping rampaging dinosaurs or flying in space or exploring inside the human body always sounded really fun. Yes, the threat of death sounded more rewarding to than going over the multiplication tables again.
Anyway, it looks like Netflix is doing a revamp of the animated series with MAGIC SCHOOL BUS RIDES AGAIN. It stars Kate McKinnon as the new Ms. Frizzle…as in literally a new Ms. Frizzle. Lily Tomlin plays the original Professor Frizzle, reprising her role from the ’90s cartoon, who for some reason gives the keys of this abomination of nature to her younger sister. Hopefully she at least has a teaching license.
