Malcolm McDowell’s wig steals the show in red-band Death Race 2050 trailer

Death Race 2050

Even with the blood and guts of men, women and children raining down across the screen, I couldn't get the geriatric tribble perched atop Malcolm McDowell out of my head. Set up as a sequel/reboot to 1975's DEATH RACE 2000, the upcoming flick finds America controlled by an all-powerful corporate government ruled by The Chairman (Malcolm McDowell) and the masses brainwashed with violent virtual-reality entertainment. Enter the Death Race, a bloody cross-country road race in which drivers score points by running people over and driving each other off the road. The reigning champion and fan favorite, Frankenstein (Manu Bennett), who's half-man half-machine, wants to take the crown, but his rebel spy co-pilot threatens his legacy. Take a look for yourself at the red-band trailer below; it's cheesy, cheap and completely insane, everything you'd expect from Roger Corman.

"Oh, and by the way, just for the record, my hair? I think it's pretty cool."

DEATH RACE 2050 will be available to own on Blu-ray/DVD on January 17th.
