Marvel is looking for the right way to bring Keanu Reeves into the MCU

Keanu Reeves, Marvel

Everybody loves Keanu Reeves. Not only does the actor bring bad-ass action to new heights in movies like JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 – PARABELLUM, but he also comes across as a genuinely nice dude; something all too rare in this business. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest franchise in the world and has shown no signs of slowing down, and over the course of 22 films, an impressive number of actors have filled the roles of some of comic's biggest heroes and villains. That said, there are still many yet to have joined up, and Keanu Reeves is one actor who Marvel is keen to sign on.

While speaking with ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that they talk to Keanu Reeves for "amost every film we make." The Marvel honcho added, "I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it." Feige compared Reeves to Jake Gyllenhaal, another actor who they spoke to "multiple times" until they finally nabbed him for the role of Mysterio in the upcoming SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. Here's hoping.

It was rumoured several weeks ago that Keanu Reeves was in talks for a role in THE ETERNALS, a film based on the Jack Kirby-created series which follows an evolutionary offshoot of humanity created as an experiment by the Celestials. In the comics, the saga of The Eternals "began millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered and near-immortal beings and a more monstrous off-shoot known as the Deviants. The two races moved behind the scenes throughout human history while also engaging in Game of Thrones-style cosmic powerplays." Naturally, Kevin Feige wasn't about to confirm this rumour, but it would be exciting to finally see Keanu Reeves join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reeves will next be seen (or rather heard) in TOY STORY 4 on June 21st, and is set to begin filming on the long-awaited BILL AND TED FACE THE MUSIC.

Would you like to see Keanu Reeves join the MCU? If so, which role would he be the best fit for?
