American Horror Story season 8 gets official title & creepy imagery

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

AMERICAN HORROR STORY has tackled some creepy stuff over the last few years, but that was before we saw a very terrifying, demonic hand with fingers made to scratch walls in the night reaching for a baby. Then there’s the new title, AMERICAN HORROR STORY: APOCALYPSE, to sprinkle on top of this unsettling sundae.

Below we have the very first teaser imagery for the brand new season of the show (set for September 12), which is meant to be a crossover of AHS: MURDER HOUSE and COVEN (seasons 1 and 3). Am I the only one who thinks it’s even creepier that the demon is being oddly gentle with the baby.

Series creator Ryan Murphy said this season will be (via EW) “unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it.” Fans of the show may remember that Vivien Harmon’s (Connie Britton) baby, the Antichrist, was taken by Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange) at the end of the first season, so perhaps this is where that whole arc will pick back up and be the start of something horrifying and world-ending.

The cast will include returning players Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, and with Joan Collins making her AHS debut. [SEE MORE]

I haven’t seen every season of AHS, but this is one I’m already quite interested in. The demonic element teases a pretty scary new season which is reason enough to tune in. I’m imagining the season being something like ROSEMARY’S BABY, but if we followed what happened after the baby was born. That child will have issues.

AHS: APOCALYPSE debuts on FX September 12.
