Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to feature The Exorcist tribute episode

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Something wicked is coming our way this October when CHILLING ADVENUTRES OF SABRINA makes its Netflix debut. According to showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the brand new spine-tingling series will be presented as a collection of mini-movies, with one in particular serving as a send-up to director William Friedkin's 1973 horror masterpiece, THE EXORCIST.

“I love The Exorcist. It’s one of my favorite movies,” Aguirre-Sacasa says, adding, “We’re doing an homage to that; we’re doing an episode that’s like [The Exorcist].”

When CHILLING ADVENUTRES OF SABRINA haunts the mega popular streaming platform, subscribers will be re-introduced to Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka), a young witch on the brink of celebrating her 16th birthday. Along with the blessed occassion comes a choice: Should Sabrina abandon her life as a mistress of magic for a more permanent place among her human companions, or, is it best for her to continue dabbling in the ancient art of black and mysterious witchcraft? It's a life altering desicion to be certain, but then again, perhaps there's a way for Sabrina to have it both ways?

Starring alongside Shipka in the highly-anticipated series set in the darker corners of the Archieverse are Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Ross Lynch, Richard Coyle, Tati Babrielle, Michelle Gomez, Chance Paerdomo, and many more.

We'll have to wait for the show to arrive on Netflix before we know the details of Sacasa's planned Exorcist setup, but here's hoping that we can expect plenty of projectile vomit, improbable crab-walking, and a bit of crucifix-inspired nautiness. The series will make its Netflix debut on Friday, October 26th
