Two new trailers for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis are awesomely surreal

David Cronenberg's COSMOPOLIS sees the release of two trailers today, just in time for the official Cannes film festival line-up announcement.  The film, starring Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Jay Baruchel, Kevin Durand, Sarah Gadon, and Samantha Morton, is based on the novel of the same name by Don DeLillo and looks to be a return to form of sorts for Cronenberg.

Well, actually, it just looks f*cking awesome.  If you're a fan of Cronenberg's work then these two trailers should get you jazzed.  I've missed his surreal style for a while now and I'm genuinely excited to see this.  The cast looks great, even Pattinson, who carries a stigma from the TWILIGHT franchise with him.  However, the more work like this that he does, then the easier it will be to forget his diamond-sparkle, fangless vampire role.

Get surreal:

COSMOPOLIS premieres next month at Cannes and will likely secure a release for sometime later this year.  Stay tuned.

Extra Tidbit: I'd like to see what Cronenberg would do with a full-on comedy. I mean, imagine The Three Stooges as directed by Cronenberg...epic, awesome, madness.
