Original Boba Fett actor Jeremy Bulloch has passed away

Much like Pedro Pascal on The Mandalorian, Jeremy Bulloch is a man whose face most Star Wars fans have never seen. But, thanks to his work starting with The Empire Strikes Back, Bulloch helped make Boba Fett one of the most iconic characters in science fiction. While Temuera Morrison is now associated with the face of Boba Fett, Bulloch was the one who started it all. We are sad to report that he has passed away at the age of 75.

In addition to playing the iconic bounty hunter in a galaxy far, far away, Bulloch has more than 100 acting credits to his name, including roles for BBC's Doctor Who, a handful of James Bond films, as well as a multitude of television series like Sloggers, The Newcomers, Agony, and Robin of Sherwood, just to name a few.

News of Bulloch's passing was quickly shared across several social media platforms, including a heartfelt post by actor Daniel Logan, who played the young Boba Fett in the prequel Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

While for a number of years Boba Fett was believed to have died after falling headlong, unceremoniously, into a Sarlacc pit, it was recently revealed in an episode of The Mandalorian that the character had indeed survived. Now, Boba Fett, played by Temuera Morrison, can be found teaming up with Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin, as well as Ming Na-Wen's Fennec Shand for a quest to recover Grogu, otherwise known as Baby Yoda.

Previously, Bulloch stated that he was of the mind that his character had survived his ordeal on Carkoon, saying "Boba will be alright. He'll get out of this," the actor explained. "If there's a problem, he can get out. He doesn't need help. He can do it himself. Apparently, he gets out of the Sarlacc pit — I haven't really kept up with the books because, to be quite honest, I haven't got the time. I'm always busy with something — grandchild there, and that one there, and one over there. Occasionally I pick up and read a bit about it, but I'm not that serious, really. You can get the information off one of the fans."

Mr. Bulloch's presence will certainly be missed and we'd like to extend our sincere condolences to Mr. Bulloch's family, friends, and fans. Rest well, good sir.
