The Continental trailer: John Wick prequel series starts streaming next month

A trailer has been released for the John Wick prequel series The Continental, which is set to start streaming in September

The Continental, a three-part event series that serves as a prequel to the John Wick films (the lead character is Winston Scott, who has been played by Ian McShane in the films), will be making its premiere on the Peacock streaming service on September 22nd, with Night 2 following on September 29th and Night 3 on October 6th. Outside of the United States, the Middle East, and Israel, the show will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. And with just over a month to go before the show starts airing, a full trailer has arrived online. Check it out in the embed above!

Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant) takes on the role of a younger Winston in The Continental, and throughout the series, viewers will follow Winston through the underworld of ’70s New York, where he will battle demons from his past as he attempts to seize control of the iconic hotel – a hotel that serves as a meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.

Woodell has said, “It’s a story of revenge and making amends for what I think is taken from [my character], and that’s my love and my family.”

Woodell’s Winston is joined in the cast by Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon) as Cormac; newcomer Ayomide Adegun as a young Charon, the character Lance Reddick played in the films; Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom) as Frankie; Hubert Point-Du Jour (The Good Lord Bird) as Miles; Jessica Allain (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) as Lou; Mishel Prada (Riverdale) as KD; Nhung Kate (The Housemaid) as Yen; Katie McGrath (Jurassic World) as The Adjudicator; Sallay Garnett (Conversations with Friends) as The Concierge; Ray McKinnon (Deadwood) as Jenkins; and Peter Greene (Pulp Fiction) as Uncle Charlie, based on the body disposal expert from the films.

Albert Hughes (From Hell) directed two of the three episodes, while the third was directed by Charlotte Brändström, who has previously worked on episodes of The Witcher and The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, among others.
