Prepare to blow your tops as there is a new zombie film coming our way starring the great Danny Trejo that is unlike anything we've seen before. I'm talking lava-filled zombies here, folks. Yes, it was bound to happen. From the people who brought us AXE GIANT: THE WRATH OF PAUL BUNYON comes VOLCANO ZOMBIES, and we've got the first images and poster for this eruption of awesomeness for ya to check out.

Above you'll see Trejo, who has got to be one of the busiest actors in our genre today, as a Native American warrior who knows the secrets of a cursed mountain range that spawns the titular baddies. He'll be joined onscreen by Tom Downey, Moniqua Plante, DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW’s Robert F. Lyons, Nicole Cummins, Kevin Norman, Kyle T. Heffner, Julia Lehman, Tom Nagel and Jenny Lin in this tale about…

…A sheriff must help an estranged family evacuate before a volcano erupts, at the same time fighting off a horde of lava-filled zombies brought to life by the cursed mountain.

The film is directed by Rene Perez (THE DEAD AND THE DAMNED) from a screenplay by AXE GIANT's Jeff Miller and Jason Ancona. Filmed at a number of locations (including around active volcanoes in Lassen Volcanic National Park), the movie is currently in postproduction.
