Tremors 6 starring Michael Gross & Jamie Kennedy begins production

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I stopped watching the TREMORS movies after part 2. I have a genuine love for the original Kevin Bacon flick and consider it to be one of the great modern creature-features. It never gets old!

I also had a blast watching TREMORS 2: AFTERSHOCKS back in the day. I took a chance and re-watched that sequel a year or two ago now and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was just as much as an adult as it was back when I was a teenager. That’s a good sign!

But, like I said, I check out after the sequel. Should I pick the series back up? Not sure. I haven’t heard much praise thrown at the other sequels. But, hey, maybe I’ve been running in the wrong circles.

Anyway, I need to catch up on the films as today we are given official word that production on the sixth film in the franchise, currently titled TREMORS 6, has begun!

Glenn Ross, general manager and executive vice president, of Universal 1440 Entertainment says:

“This is going to be the craziest, most over-the-top movie in the Tremors saga to date,”  “It takes the franchise’s signature combination of suspense, action and humor to new explosive heights.”

Sounds good to me, Glenn!

Here is the TREMORS 6 synopsis:

Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the artic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom — but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid!

TREMORS 6 is, again, directed by Don Michael Paul from a script by John Whelpley. Both worked as director and screenwriter on the last TREMORS outing, TREMORS 5: BLOODLINES.

TREMORS 6 will be released on Blu-rayTM, DVD and Digital HD in 2018.
