Writers of The Uninvited welcomed into the Bermuda Triangle

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

A couple weeks ago, we learned that screenwriters Juliet Snowden and Stiles White had been hired to do a rewrite on the script for an untitled Bermuda Triangle project that's set up at Universal.

Skydance Productions have their own untitled Bermuda Triangle project in the works, and keeping in step with Universal they have also hired a screenwriting pair to do some rewrites.

The new writers in question are Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard, whose credits include PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE, and the 2009 horror film THE UNINVITED (a remake of the Korean film A TALE OF TWO SISTERS). They'll be working from a script originally drafted by FREDDY VS. JASON/FRIDAY THE 13TH 2009 writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.

Just how horrific Skydance or Universal intend these Bermuda Triangle movies to be remains to be seen, but one has to imagine they're going to feature some seriously strange goings-on.

There is certainly a lot that could be done with the Bermuda Triangle concept, but I'm not sure how receptive audiences might be to dueling projects about the location, no matter how different the approaches may be. But we've made it through the battles of ARMAGEDDON vs. DEEP IMPACT and VOLCANO vs. DANTE'S PEAK, we shall endure this as well.
