The Strangers: Prey at Night Damian Maffei

The WRONG TURN franchise is getting a reboot, and the original film's screenwriter Alan B. McElroy has returned to craft a different take on the concept of outsiders running into trouble in the backwoods of West Virginia. Directed by Mike P. Nelson, the new WRONG TURN is currently filming in McElroy's home state of Ohio, and the folks over at Bloody-Disgusting have been able to confirm the full cast list.

We have known for a while that the film will star Charlotte Vega as the heroine Jes, one of

six friends from New York taking a hiking trip to the beautiful West Virginia Mountains who unwittingly fall prey to a savage sect known as The Foundation.

The most well known of Vega's co-stars may be Matthew Modine, who has been working steadily for almost 40 years now, racking up over 100 credits. Among those credits are the roles of Private Joker in FULL METAL JACKET, Foley in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, and Martin Brenner in Stranger Things.

Also in the cast are Bill Sage, another character actor who has earned over 100 credits since beginning in the '80s; Emma Dumont, who played Polaris in the Fox / Marvel series The Gifted; Valerie Jane Parker of the series Greenleaf; Chaney Morrow of HAUNT; and stuntman David Hutchison.

One notable cast member is Damian Maffei, who played the "Man in the Mask" in last year's THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT (pictured above). Here Maffei is said to be playing a character called Deer Skull, who is one of several "Skull" characters. There's also Ram Skull, Wild Boar Skull, and Wolf Skull. So it sounds like these Skulls might be our slashers this time around instead of the original One Eye, Saw Tooth, and Three Finger.

Rounding out the cast are Dylan McTee, Adrian Favela, Adain Bradley, Jeremy Ambler, Cory Scott Allen, Gary Ray Stearns, Rhyan Elizabeth Hanavan, Vardaan Arora, Mark Mench, Joshua Stephen Campbell, Jennie Malone, Brian James Fitzpatrick, and Mark Angel.

We'll be keeping an eye on the new WRONG TURN as it continues to make its way through production and toward release.
