WWI survival-horror game Conscript releases new gameplay footage!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While WWII has been a popular videogame setting for a while now – from WOLFENSTEIN, to the original CALL OF DUTY and MEDAL OF HONOR, to BATTLEFIELD 1942…the list goe on and on – not so much for WWI (though there have been a rare few). Now, it looks like there's a new entry in the "WWI videogame" canon, in the form of the indie survival-horror game CONSCRIPT, which you can see gameplay footage of at the top of the article!

Here's the official description:

Catchweight Studio announces two-dimensional horror game CONSCRIPT. The game takes place in the setting of the First World War. The protagonist is a French soldier looking for a missing brother during the Battle of Verdun. The main developer, student historian JD, is inspired by the first Silent Hill and Resident Evil, so there will be elements of psychological horror and survival in CONSCRIPT. The hero has few resources, in addition to real enemies, he has to fight with demons of reason. There are melee and ranged weapons, large locations, labyrinths of trenches and forts. Players will also have to solve puzzles, and alternative scenarios, bonus weapons and difficulty settings will give the game high replayability. CONSCRIPT is due out on Steam by the end of 2020.

Looks cool to me! And if you want to help get this game to the finish line (as it is currently in the demo stage), you can go to the game's Kickstarter to help donate, if you feel so inclined.

So what do you guys think? Fans of survival-horror? If so, how did you feel about the demo? Either way, sound off below!
